Funbook 3 Prep

I’ve been furiously pounding away at preparations for the 3rd (and probably final Funbook). This one is by far going to be the best. It’ll be 2 times the size for one thing (11×17). Plus there are so many awesome sounds on the record, the combination will make it the best selling coloring book in the Portland. EVER. You can learn more about it here.

Floating World Animation Festival

I just finished the 2008 poster for The Floating World Animation Festival. This is an original typeface I developed just for the poster. Maybe I’ll refine it a bit more and actually make a usable version in the future. The Floating World Animation Festival happening in a couple weeks. Jason writes on his website:

The second annual FLOATING WORLD ANIMATION FEST comes to the Bagdad Theater this Saturday Aug 16, 6:30pm as part of the latest SUPERTRASH FILM FEST. This year’s show features mindblowing animation and sustained psychedelia from: Bruce Bickford, Bruno 9li, Lung, Yoshi Sodeoka, Jen Stark, Wham City, Robert Valley, Tasha Brotherton, Dalek and Jesse Olanday, Mathieu Labaye, and many more!

Special guest Bruce Bickford will be present at the Sunday 3pm screening of his stop motion masterpiece, PROMETHEUS’ GARDEN. Best known for his collaborations with rock iconoclast Frank Zappa in the 1970’s (Dub Room Special, Baby Snakes, The Amazing Mr. Bickford), underground animator Bruce Bickford has influenced generations of artists with his original vision.

Prometheus’ Garden (1988) is the only film over which Bickford maintained complete creative control.

You can download the poster here: fwaf-2008 . This year’s show is guaranteed amazing.

New Business Card

After looking at Nasa’s awesome media rich website for a few hours I thought a nebula would be a nice background for a new business card. I also used the modified version of Frankfurter I’m using in the new Funbook.
